What's new in ArcPad 10.2.1
Key features of ArcPad 10.2.1 are the support of individual Bing Keys, improved rangefinder and linear traversing behavior, improved synchronization with feature services, and better handling of non sde geometry types at check out.
Bing Maps
- Bing Keys must now be obtained directly from Microsoft. Enter your Bing Key on the Server tab on the ArcPad Options dialog box.
- Use existing Bing Map NMF files that you have already created or use the ones now saved in \\Public Documents\ArcPad\Samples\Bing Maps.
Rangefinders and linear traversing
- Polygon capture behavior is now the same as line capture behavior.
- Offset values from a rangefinder will now automatically be inserted into the Point/Vertex form when using the current GPS location as a reference point.
- Now when firing a second shot from a rangefinder, on the single point offset page, the first reading is replaced. On the 2-point offset page, the second shot populates the details for Reference Point B.
- Duplicate Point/Vertex dialog boxes have been removed.
- ArcPad Help topics have been revised.
Synchronization with feature services
- Symbology and custom data forms no longer disappear after you close and reopen a project that has previously been synchronized with a feature service.
- ArcPad is now able to connect to and download ArcGIS Server 10.0 feature services (in addition to new feature services). When the feature service is capable of editing, ArcPad can add features, edit attributes, edit geometry, and delete features successfully when synching edits to the server.
- Unique indexes (if missing) are now added to your AXF during synchronization. Because of this, users should no longer experience difficulty synchronizing more than one feature at a time.
ArcPad Data Manager
If non sde length and area columns are exposed in your geodatabase in ArcMap, the ArcPad Data Manager will automatically hide these columns upon check out; therefore, they will be ignored by ArcPad (eliminating errors due to non sde geometry fields).
