Adding an existing Bing Map service

First time use - Enter Bing Maps key

Steps:
  1. Choose Options from the main toolbar.
  2. Click the Server tab, and provide your Bing Maps key.
  3. Bing Key edit box on

Add a Bing Map service to your map (Windows)

Steps:
  1. Choose the Add Layer(s) tool
  2. Browse to the \\Shared Documents\ArcPad\Samples\Bing Maps folder, and choose one of the available Bing Map NMF files: Aerial, Hybrid, or Road.
  3. Add Bing Maps layer

Add a Bing Map service to your map (Windows Mobile)

Steps:
  1. Copy the Bing Maps NMF files from your desktop computer to your Windows Mobile device. On your desktop, these files are located at \\Shared Documents\ArcPad\Samples\Bing Maps. ArcPad will download the image tiles to the same location as these NMF files, so choose a location on your Windows Mobile device where there is plenty of space, for example, the SD card.
  2. Choose the Add Layer(s) tool.
  3. Browse to the folder where you copied the NMF files, and choose one to add to your map.

Troubleshoot Bing Map layers

If you have an existing ArcPad project that includes a Bing Map service, you may see the following error messages when opened in ArcPad 10.2.1:

These messages indicate that to continue to use the Bing Map services, a valid Bing Maps Key needs to entered into the Bing Key section of the Server tab in the ArcPad Optionsdialog box.
