Adding StreetMap data to your map

To add the sample ArcPad StreetMap data to your map:

Steps:

1. Tap the Add Layer button on the Main toolbar. The Add Layer(s) dialog box opens with a list of data folders.
2. Navigate to the Rhode Island folder located in My Documents and check the _rhode_island.navmap check box. The StreetMap file (.navmap) defines what compressed datasets are included in the dataset you are about to load.
3. Tap OK.

   A message indicates that the StreetMap Layer is loading, and the selected layer is drawn in the ArcPad map window.

   Notice that the StreetMap toolbar is automatically loaded. This is your main interface for interacting with the StreetMap data, including the geocoding and routing tasks.
