How to run the Java Server ADF samples

About running the Java Server ADF samples

Java Server samples can be run in the following ways:
  • Using the arcgisant build
  • Using Eclipse
In each sample's folder, there is a ReadMe.htm file with detailed instructions on how to build and run that sample.

Using the arcgisant build

Do the following steps when using the arcgisant build:
  1. Browse to the sample folder from the command line and issue the following command:
    • arcgisant build
  2. Follow the command prompt to add the appropriate information. When the build is complete, there will be a build folder in the sample with a .war file and a folder for the sample that you can deploy to any application server.

Using Eclipse

Do the following steps when using Eclipse:
  1. Start Eclipse.
  2. Click File and click New - ESRI Templates.
  3. Choose Web ADF Samples, select a sample, and follow the user interface (UI) wizard to complete the sample project.
