Simplified deployment

ArcGIS Runtime applications require little overhead to deploy and allow for a small application footprint. For smartphone apps, you submit your app to the MarketPlace or to the Apple App Store. For Linux and Windows desktop deployments, the deployment method depends on whether your users' environment will be connected (to the Internet, ArcGIS Server, or to ArcGIS Portal) or disconnected (local), but in either case, there are few tasks you must do to deploy.

Other considerations include:

  • For smartphone apps, will you charge users for your application? If so, fees may apply.
  • For desktop applications, what type of functionality to you want to include? A deployment tool is included with ArcGIS Runtime to step you through the deployment process, but before you deploy, you'll need to determine which license you want.
