ArcGIS Image Server enables you to create and publish image services that can include large numbers of image datasets in different formats, projections, and at different resolutions. There are two main components that you use to do this.

  • Service Editor—Image service definitions are created and edited in ArcMap using the tools and functions on the Image Service Definition Editor toolbar.
  • Server—This entails a server, service providers, and the Server Manager which is used to configure and manage the server and service providers.
