Using a map document as the layout for the map series

LegacyLegacy:

10.2.1 is the final release in which MPS-Atlas is available for installation. It is recommended that map series created with MPS-Atlas be moved to data driven pages. For more information, see Migrating an MPS-Atlas map book to Data Driven Pages.

The Map Sheet Properties tab allows you to specify layout for your map sheets. You can select a standard ArcMap document in the form of an existing Map Document (.mxd) file as a template for the layout.

Choosing a layout from an existing map document will bring in the existing layers, page elements, and properties from the selected map document. You can also add data frame manager properties using the Show Data Frame Manager Properties button on the MPS Atlas toolbar.

  1. Start ArcMap.
  2. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > MPS Atlas.
