Flashing the calculated area of interest
10.2.1 is the final release in which MPS-Atlas is available for installation. It is recommended that map series created with MPS-Atlas be moved to data driven pages. For more information, see Migrating an MPS-Atlas map book to Data Driven Pages.
After the data frame manager is added, the calculated area of interest (AOI) may be different from the AOI source data feature. This is because the data frame manager may apply buffers and rotation angles to the data frame. When you flash the calculated area, it will flash the resulting geometry. It will leave a black outline of the result. This is intentional. When the map sheet is refreshed, this black outline will disappear.
- Start ArcMap.
- On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > MPS Atlas.
-
Click the Show Data Frame Manager Properties button on the MPS Atlas toolbar.
The Data Frame Managers dialog box appears.
-
Right-click the map sheet data frame you want to use and click Flash Calculated Area of Interest.
The current map sheet's calculated area of interest flashes in the map display.
