Automatically populating page numbers

LegacyLegacy:

10.2.1 is the final release in which MPS-Atlas is available for installation. It is recommended that map series created with MPS-Atlas be moved to data driven pages. For more information, see Migrating an MPS-Atlas map book to Data Driven Pages.

The Map Series Properties dialog box allows you to perform a variety of functions on a map series, including map sheet page numbering.

The Page Numbering tab on the Map Series Properties dialog box provides two options, Automatically Populate Page Numbers and Select Page Number Fields and Data Sources.

Choosing the Automatically Populate Page Numbers option allows you to define the starting page number and automatically numbers the map sheets with your selection. Selecting this option also determines how map sheets are numbered when you select the Use Map Series Page Number option on the Page Number tab on the Map Sheet Properties dialog box. However, this option does not affect a map sheet that has been configured with a user-defined page number using the User Specified option on the Page Number tab on the Map Sheet Properties dialog box.

Steps:
  1. Start ArcMap.
  2. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > MPS Atlas.
  3. Click the MPS Atlas window button MPS Atlas window on the MPS Atlas toolbar.

    The MPS Atlas window appears.

  4. Right-click the map series on the MPS Atlas window and click Map Series Properties.

The Map Series Properties dialog box appears.

  5. If necessary, click the Page Numbering tab.

    The Page Numbering tab appears.
