30008: Map is time enabled and the default view of the service will display data for time enabled layers that fall within the specified time extent

Your map is time enabled. When you publish this map as a service, the default view of the map will display the features of visible, time-enabled layers that fall within the specified time extent in the map. If live mode is enabled for the map being published, the time extent will be set to end at the current time of a map export unless otherwise specified.

More information

When a map is time enabled and published, the default display of the service will show only the features of time-enabled layers that fall within the time extent specified in the Time Slider for the map at the time of publishing.

CautionCaution:

In some cases the default view may display no features for time-enabled layers. This occurs when there are no features within the time extent specified when the map was published. Make sure you view the map before publishing to ensure that the default display is acceptable.

When a map contains visible, time-enabled layers and the map itself is not time enabled, all the features of the time-enabled layers will draw by default. This will be the default display of the service when the map is published.

If you are using a time-aware client, you can specify time intervals in order to see subsets of features of the map service's time-enabled layers. However, if your client is not time aware, such as ArcMap 9.3.1, you will have no choice but to view all features of the map service's time-enabled layers.
