Enabling a server object extension on a service

Once your server object extension (SOE) is deployed, you can enable it on your map or image service. Do the following to enable the SOE:

Steps:
  1. Find your map or image service in the ArcGIS for Desktop Catalog window or ArcGIS Server Manager.
  2. Begin editing your map or image service. To do this in ArcGIS for Desktop, right-click your service in the Catalog tree and click Service Properties. In Manager, just browse to the service and click the name of the service, which is a hyperlink.
  3. Click Capabilities and check the check box next to your SOE name.
  4. If applicable, select the operations you want to allow for the SOE. These operations were optionally created by the SOE developer, and they give you a finer degree of control over the things users can do with the SOE.
  5. Set any further properties for the SOE that appear on this property page. In Manager, the properties of the SOE are configurable through a set of input boxes unless the SOE developer chose to customize the property page. If you're using ArcGIS for Desktop, you won't see any properties to configure unless the SOE developer provided a property page. Some SOEs do not expose any properties at all.
  6. Save your changes and close the dialog box. The service is restarted when you save.
