Changing the vertical symbology to a solid column with a cone (Aviation)

You can change the symbology of a vertical line representing a navaid or a designated point in the instrument approach profile view to a solid column with an embedded cone by using the Solid Column With Cone tool.

Solid column with cone

The default symbology of the vertical line is configured in the instrument approach profile view settings.

Steps:
  1. Start ArcMap.
  2. On the main menu, click View > Layout View.
  3. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Aviation Terminal Procedure.
  4. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Aviation Profile Edit.
  5. Click the Edit Instrument Approach Profile button Edit Instrument Approach Profile on the Aviation Terminal Procedure toolbar.
  6. Select a vertical line.
  7. Click the Solid Column With Cone button Solid Column With Cone on the Aviation Profile Edit toolbar.

A solid column with a cone replaces the existing vertical line symbology.
