About the AGV file video metadata tags

The metadata section of the AGV file is optional and is designed to contain general information describing the video.

The available video metadata tags

The <Name> and <Description> tags are the two available video metadata tags for AVG files.

Description

<Name>
  • This is the initial display name of the video layer in the ArcGlobe table of contents.

  • If no name is provided in the AGV file, a default one is automatically provided.
  • The layer name property persists in the ArcGlobe document and will override any value inside the AGV file when the document (or layer file) is reopened.
<Description>
  • This area contains more detailed information for the layer's description on the Globe General tab of the Layer Properties dialog box.
  • The description can be changed at any time inside ArcGlobe without updating the AGV file.
  • The description property persists in the ArcGlobe document and will override any value inside the AGV file when the document (or layer file) is reopened.
