How to change the vertical exaggeration in ArcScene

You can change the vertical exaggeration inside ArcScene to emphasize or understate the current vertical changes in the surface.

Steps:
  1. In thetable of contents, right-click Scene layers and click Scene Properties.
  2. Click the General tab.
  3. Click the Vertical Exaggeration drop-down arrow and click a vertical exaggeration factor.
  4. The vertical exaggeration factor is applied to the z-values of all the data in the display.
  5. Optionally, click Calculate From Extent to automatically calculate an exaggeration factor based on the extent of all the data in the 3D view.
  6. Click OK.
TipTip:
  • Double-click Scene layers as a shortcut to opening the Scene Properties dialog box.
