Setting the target layer of new graphics

After you have create a new graphics layer you will need to designate it as the target for newly added graphics. If you create more than one graphics layer, setting the active graphics layer target will help you manage graphic objects you add to particular layers.

Be sure to name a graphics layer listed in the table of contents as you would any other layer. Select the layer in the table of contents, click it again, then type the name you want to call the layer.

Steps:
  1. Click Graphics on the Globe 3D Graphics toolbar.
  2. Point to Active Graphics Layer Target.
  3. Click the graphics layer you want to set as the target for newly created graphics.
  4. All new graphics you create will be added to the target graphics layer.

TipTip:
Graphics pasted in from other ArcGIS applications will also honor the current target graphics layer.
