How to tour the contents of a KML layer

You can tour the locations of all the elements of a KML layer inside ArcGlobe. Touring is like a controlled flight through the KML elements defined by settings such as the tour play order and how long to wait over each element before moving to the next.

Follow the instructions below to begin a tour of your KML contents. You need to have the KML toolbar added to the display and utilize the KML Contents window.

Steps:
  1. Click the KML Contents button KML Contents to toggle the visibility of the KML Contents window.
  2. Right-click the appropriate folder element in the KML tree structure from the KML Contents window and click KML Play Tour.

ArcGlobe zooms to each child node within the selected folder, pausing for one second at each location.

TipTip:

At any time during the tour, you can cancel the event by pressing the ESC key. You can optionally use the Navigate tool to click inside the 3D view. If using the latter method, a KML Tour pop-up window appears indicating the tour has been cancelled. Simply click OK on the message and the tour will not resume.
