Configuring layers for a step

In Task Assistant Manager, you can configure layer settings for steps. Layer configuration includes table of contents properties (visibility and selectability).

Steps:
  1. Start ArcMap.
  2. If necessary, click the Task Assistant button Task Assistant on the Task Manager toolbar to display the Task Assistant window.
  3. Open a task assistant workflow.
  4. Click to select the step to configure in the Task Assistant window.
  5. Click the Designer tab.
  6. Click the cell next to Layers and click the ellipsis (...) that appears.

  7. Click the Dataframe drop-down arrow and choose the data frame containing the layers you want to configure.
  8. In the Layer Members list, click to highlight the layer to configure.
  9. In the Layer Properties list, click the plus sign to expand the table of contents.
  10. Click the drop-down arrow in the cell next to each table of contents field and choose a value.
  11. To set all table of contents properties to the same value, click the drop-down arrow in the cell next to AllTOC and choose a value.
  12. If necessary, repeat steps 8 through 11 for all layers in the Layer Members list.
  13. Click OK.
  14. TipTip:

    If you want to set the visibility or selectability of all layers to the same value (on, off, or unchanged), check the Set check box, choose the settings from the first two drop-down lists, choose the required value from the third drop-down list, then click Set to apply the settings.
