An overview of the To Coverage toolset

This topic applies to ArcGIS for Desktop Advanced only.

Contains tools that allow you to convert various file formats to coverages.

If you need to convert files from a format not included in this toolset, you might have to first convert to another of the ArcGIS file formats. Check the Conversion Tools toolbox for other converters.

Advanced Tiger Conversion

Converts a set of U.S. Census Bureau TIGER/Line files to a set of coverages.

Basic Tiger Conversion

Converts a set of U.S. Bureau of Census TIGER/Line files into one or more coverages.

Generate

Generates a coverage from coordinates stored in a file.

Import From DLG

Converts a Standard or Optional formatted Digital Line Graph (DLG) file to a coverage.

Import From Interchange File

Converts an ArcInfo Workstation export interchange file.

Import From S57

Converts data from S-57 format to one or more coverages.

Import From SDTS

Creates ArcGIS coverages or grids from a Spatial Data Transfer Standard (SDTS) Topological Vector Profile (TVP) or Point Profile Transfer.

Import From VPF

Converts a VPF table to an INFO table, or converts either an untiled VPF coverage or VPF tile to an ArcGIS coverage.
