Geoprocessing service settings: Sharing

ArcGIS Online

Sharing your service on ArcGIS Online exposes it for others to use. Within the Service Editor you can use the Sharing page to create a web link to your service within ArcGIS Online. You can choose which groups to share your service with, or keep the service private to you.

NoteNote:

By sharing your service outside your organization you need to ensure that your ArcGIS for Server has been configured for external use. Typically, a default server installation sets paths and virtual directories to work within your network. You may need to modify your server configuration to support external users.

Share your service with

You can share your service at three levels:

  • My Content will keep the service link private to your ArcGIS Online workspace. The service will be inaccessible to other ArcGIS Online users and clients on the web.
  • Everyone (public) makes your geoprocessing service public. This means anybody can access and see your service, including users on the web.
  • Members of these groups creates a link within the selected group to share your service.
