Defining the NIS workspace (Maritime Charting)

If you will be working with an enterprise production environment, this property should be pointing to your NIS database. This allows the different processes in the product library to access the NIS central database to extract data and create the replica connections from the NIS database to the production databases.

Steps:
  1. Start ArcMap.
  2. On the main menu, click Customize > Production > Production Properties.

The Production Properties dialog box appears.

  3. Click Nautical Properties.
  4. In the Nautical Information System (NIS) section, click the Click to edit property cell next to Workspace and click the ellipsis (...) that appears.
  5. Browse to the location of your NIS database (NIS owner connection file).
  6. Click Open.

The NIS workspace location is added to the property.

  7. Click OK.
