Exporting to Layout GeoTIFF (Aeronautical Solution)

Esri Production Mapping allows you to export a page layout view to GeoTIFF. GeoTIFFs are TIFF files that contain spatial reference information.

NoteNote:

The GeoTIFF format supports a single spatial reference. If a layout contains multiple data frames, you must choose which frame will supply georeferencing information to the GeoTIFF. You make this choice in the Production tab on the Export Map dialog box when the Save as type is set to Layout GeoTIFF.

NoteNote:

Page space (outside the data frame extent) will have its geographic coordinates interpolated based on the spatial reference and geographic location displayed in the specified data frame.

Steps:
  1. Start ArcMap.
  2. Open a map document.
  3. On the main menu, click File > Export Map.

The Export Map dialog box appears.

  4. Choose Layout GeoTIFF (*.tif) from the Save as type drop-down list.
  5. Specify a file name and a location to save to.
  6. On the General tab, enter the resolution, width, and height of the file.
  7. On the Format tab, specify the color mode, compression, compression quality, and background color. You can also choose to write GeoTIFF tags to the file.
  8. On the Production tab, click the drop-down arrow to choose a data frame that will supply georeferencing information to the page layout.
  9. Click Save.
