Description

The input layer used with the Eliminate tool does not have a selection. The features to be eliminated are determined by the selection, so without a selection, features cannot be eliminated.

Solution

Use tools such as SelectLayerByAttribute or SelectLayerByLocation to define which features in the input feature layer will be eliminated prior to using the Eliminate tool.
