Associating workflows with map documents for all users

Associate workflows with map documents for all users by using the Configuration Manager. With this method, workflows are associated with saved map documents for all users, not just the current user. One or more saved task assistant workflows can be associated with a map document.

NoteNote:

In order to associate workflows with map documents in the Configuration Manager, you must have administrative privileges on the machine.

Steps:
  1. Click Start > All Programs > Task Assistant Manager > Configuration Manager.

The (Administrator) Configuration Manager dialog box appears.

    NoteNote:

If you do not have administrator privileges on the machine, the dialog box title is Configuration Manager, and you cannot change to Task Assistant designer mode.

  2. Click the MXD/Workflow Associations tab.
  3. Click the ellipsis button (...) next to the MXD text box.

The Choose MXD dialog box appears.

  4. Navigate to the MXD to associate with a task assistant workflow.
  5. Click Open.

The (Administrator) Configuration Manager dialog box appears.

  6. Click the ellipsis button (...) next to the Workflow text box.

The Choose Task Assistant file dialog box appears.

  7. Navigate to the task assistant workflow to associate with the MXD.
  8. Click Open.

The (Administrator) Configuration Manager dialog box appears.

  9. Click Associate.

You can associate multiple MXDs with one task assistant workflow, or one MXD with multiple task assistant workflows.

Selected MXDs are listed in the MXDs list. The Associated Workflows list displays the full path to the associated task assistant workflows.
