Starting ArcGlobe

Steps:
  1. If you haven't already, install ArcGIS 3D Analyst extension. If you did not install ArcGIS 3D Analyst extension, you can run the ArcGIS installation program again to install it.

To use ArcGlobe, you must have a ArcGIS 3D Analyst extension license. If you're not sure which ESRI products you are licensed for, you can find out at http://service.esri.com.

  2. Start ArcGlobe by clicking Start > All Programs > ArcGIS > ArcGlobe 10.

If this is the first time you started ArcGlobe or if you haven't checked the Do not show this dialog in the future option, the ArcGlobe Getting Started dialog box appears. For details on this dialog box, see Setting the Default Geodatabase.

Otherwise, the ArcGlobe window appears, as shown in the following image.

  3. Now you are ready to work with layers in ArcGlobe.
You can work with ArcGIS 3D Analyst extension capabilities in other ArcGIS applications, such as ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcScene. For details, see A quick tour of ArcGIS 3D Analyst extension and enable the ArcGIS 3D Analyst extension.
