Uninstalling earlier releases of Mapping and Charting Solutions

All Esri products earlier than release 10.1 need to be uninstalled before installing Mapping and Charting Solutions 10.2.x.

TipTip:

To find out what ArcGIS products are currently installed on your machine, download the PatchFinder utility from the Esri support site and run it from your local machine.

TipTip:

The ArcGIS 10.1 Uninstall utility also removes all releases of ArcGIS for Desktop and any extensions earlier than 10.1.

Important

Esri strongly recommends that all sample and third-party extensions or plug-ins be uninstalled before installing a newer release of an Esri product.

Mapping and Charting Solutions 10 and earlier users

You must uninstall releases 10 and earlier of Mapping and Charting Solutions from your machine before proceeding with the Mapping and Charting Solutions 10.2.x installation.

Automated uninstallation

Use the ArcGIS 10.1 Uninstall utility to remove all ArcGIS and extensions earlier than release 10. This utility also ensures that the products are uninstalled in the proper order.

Manual uninstallation

Add/Remove Programs in Windows XP or Programs and Features in Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 can be used to uninstall products individually. With Mapping and Charting Solutions, software must be uninstalled in the following order:

For Windows Vista and Windows XP, this process only applies to the 10.2 and 10.2.1 releases. Windows Vista and Windows XP are no longer supported at 10.2.2.

  4. Esri Aeronautical Solution, Esri Defense Mapping, and Esri Nautical Solution

Mapping and Charting Solutions 10.1 users (including SP1)

The Mapping and Charting Solutions 10.2.x setup package is designed to detect and upgrade an existing installation of Mapping and Charting Solutions 10.1 (including SP1) on the target system.
