Installing Business Analyst Server Data

Business Analyst Server Data Setup installs server specific datasets and data. The data includes streets, demographic layers, businesses, and shopping centers required by the Business Analyst Server Web applications. Click Esri Data for more information.

Data setup should be done before starting the Business Analyst Server installation for easy configuration of the Business Analyst Server Web applications.

To run Business Analyst Server Data Setup, do the following:

Steps:
  1. Select Business Analyst Server US 2011 Data Setup. When you select Esri Business Analyst Server Data Setup, the Welcome to the Esri Business Analyst US 2011 Data for Server Setup dialog box appears.

  2. Click Next.
  3. In the License Agreement dialog box, review the information, click the I accept the terms in the license agreement check box and click Next.

  4. Click Next in the Select Features dialog box.
  5. Select features
    The Business Analyst Server Datasets feature will install server specific datasets needed by Business Analyst Server. By default, the folder will be set to C:\Program Files\ArcGIS folder.
    The Business Analyst Data sub features are explained below:
    • USA Geocoding Service Locator Data—Esri's Geocoder integrating an address-based approach with 45+ million residential and commercial U.S. address records from the NAVTEQ Address Points database.
    • Demographic Data—A national database of more than 1,500 demographic data variables including current-year estimates and five-year projections used for reporting and to perform analysis. This data is available at the Census block group, Census tract, County, State, US, Core Based Statistical Area, Designated Market Area and ZIP Code Levels of geography.
    • Generalized Data USA—This data is used by Business Analyst Server for trade area analysis.
    • Street Map Data—Nationwide street data is used as a basemap for routing and drive time analysis. It contains current comprehensive data for 14+ million addressed street segments.
    • DMM Shopping Centers Data—A national database from the Directory of Major Malls, Inc., that includes information for 4,000+ major U.S. shopping centers, malls, and lifestyle/specialty centers with a gross leasable area (GLA) of approximately 225,000+ square feet.
    • Business Data—A national database of more than 12 million U.S. businesses from Infogroup that includes name, location, sales volume, employee count, SIC and NAICS industry codes, and more.
    • Segmentation—Residential areas are divided into segments based on demographic variables such as age, income, home value, occupation, household type, education, and other consumer behavior characteristics.
  6. The Data Setup is now ready to install. Click Install.
