How to install ArcGIS Spatial Data Server for the Java Platform on Linux

  1. Launch the ArcGIS Spatial Data Server for the Java Platform setup.
  2. Evaluate the Introduction dialog box and click Next to continue.
  3. Review the license agreement and accept if you agree. Click Next to continue with the installation.
  4. Click Next to accept the default location or click Choose to specify the installation folder.
  5. Review the summary information and click Install to begin the installation.
  6. Before the installation finishes, the Software Authorization Wizard dialog box is activated. Complete the authorization process. See Authorizing ArcGIS Spatial Data Server for more information and return to this page when done.
    NoteNote:

To run Software Authorization Wizard outside the setup, see the sample command line below based on the default installation location:

    ${HOME}/arcgis/SDS10.1/java/bin/software_authorization.sh

  7. When completed, click Done to exit the wizard.
    CautionCaution:

Software authorization status is displayed on the Install Complete dialog box. If failure is detected, address the failure message and run Software Authorization Wizard outside the setup (as shown in the previous note).

  8. To deploy ${HOME}/arcgis/SDS10.1/java/arcgis.war file to a supported web application server, see Web application deployment for Tomcat, Web application deployment for WebLogic, or Web application deployment for WebSphere.
    NoteNote:

Once deployed, a second authorization process is required to place an authorization entry in the ArcGIS Spatial Data Server for Java service repository. See Authorizing a deployed ArcGIS Spatial Data Server for Java.
