Uninstalling ArcGIS Web Adaptor

To uninstall ArcGIS Web Adaptor, follow the steps in the sections below.

Once you uninstall the Web Adaptor, client applications will not be able to communicate with Portal for ArcGIS. If you want to reestablish this communication in the future, use the Web Adaptor configuration page to register the Web Adaptor with Portal for ArcGIS. For full instructions, see Configuring ArcGIS Web Adaptor.

Unregistering the Web Adaptor

First you'll need to unregister the Web Adaptor with your portal using the ArcGIS Portal Directory. To do so, follow the steps below.

NoteNote:

The unregistering functionality is available starting at Portal for ArcGIS 10.2.1 and is required at 10.2.1 and later versions. If your portal and Web Adaptor product versions are out of sync, you'll need to make sure both components are upgraded before proceeding.

Steps:
  1. Open the Portal Directory and log in with a member who has administrative access to the portal. The URL is formatted https://webadaptor.domain.com/arcgis/portaladmin.
  2. Click System > Web Adaptors.
  3. On the Web Adaptors page, click the name of the machine that is hosting the Web Adaptor.
  4. On the Web Adaptor: <machine name> page, click Unregister Web Adaptor.
  5. On the Unregister Web Adaptor page, click Unregister Web Adaptor.

The Web Adaptor is unregistered with your portal.

Uninstalling the Web Adaptor silently

Performing a silent uninstallation of the Web Adaptor on Linux doesn't require an X display or user interaction during the uninstallation process. By design, the installation mode in which you are running the setup is what will be set as default for the uninstallation mode.

To silently uninstall the Web Adaptor on Linux, launch the uninstallation script silently (based on the default installation location):

${HOME}/arcgis/webadaptor10.2.2/java/uninstall_WebAdaptor -s
