Updating ArcGIS Data Reviewer for Server

This document describes how to apply a service pack or patch update to an existing ArcGIS Data Reviewer for Server site. To upgrade an existing ArcGIS Data Reviewer for Server site, do one of the following:

• To upgrade to a service pack, follow all the instructions below.
• To apply a patch, run the patch setup and then follow steps 8-13 below.

You can also install the latest service pack for ArcGIS 10.1 Data Reviewer for Server on its own. There is no need to install ArcGIS 10.1 Data Reviewer for Server and apply the service pack. To do this, run the service pack's Setup.exe and follow the steps in Installing ArcGIS Data Reviewer for Server.

Steps:

1. Upgrade to the latest service pack for ArcGIS 10.1 for Server.
2. Start the ArcGIS 10.1 Data Reviewer for Server service pack setup program.
   Caution:

   Your ArcGIS Server services will be restarted at the end of the installation process.

3. Click Next on the Welcome to the ArcGIS 10.1 SP1 Data Reviewer for Server Setup Program panel of the installation wizard.

   The License Agreement dialog box appears.

4. Review the license agreement and accept it, or exit if you do not agree with the terms.
5. Click Next.

   The Ready to Install the Program dialog box appears.

6. Click Install to begin the installation.

   Once the installation has finished, the InstallShield Wizard Completed dialog box appears.

7. Click Finish.
8. Log in to ArcGIS Server Manager by opening your manager URL in a web browser.

   Your manager URL is http://<server name>:6080/arcgis/manager.

9. Click Site on the top panel of the page.
10. Click Extensions inside the panel on the left side of the page.
11. Click the pen button to the right of the ESRI.Production.ReviewerServer.soe extension.
    Caution:

    Clicking the pen button allows you to re-register the ESRI.Production.ReviewerServer.soe extension. Clicking the X button will remove the extension from your ArcGIS for Server site.

12. Click Browse and navigate to the location of the ESRI.Production.ReviewerServer.soe file.
    Note:

    The .soe file will be located in the ArcGISDataReviewerServer\Server10.1\Bin folder.

13. Click Save.
    Note:

    If you have configured ArcGIS Data Reviewer for Server in an ArcGIS for Server cluster, repeat steps 1–13 for each machine in the cluster.

14. Click Services on the top panel of the page.
15. Restart any map service that uses the Data Reviewer Server capability.
