Map Service Name: World_Imagery

Description: This map is a compilation of imagery sources for the world. The map includes NASA Blue Marble: Next Generation 500-meter resolution imagery at small scales (above 1:1M), i-cubed 15-meter eSAT imagery at medium-to-large scales (down to 1:72k) for the world, and USGS 15-meter Landsat imagery for Antarctica. The map features 1-meter or better resolution imagery in many parts of the world.

The United States is covered by i-cubed Nationwide Prime imagery, which is a seamless, color mosaic of various commercial and government imagery sources, including Aerials Express 0.3- to 0.6-meter-resolution imagery for metropolitan areas and the best available United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) imagery and enhanced versions of United States Geological Survey (USGS) Digital Ortho Quarter Quad (DOQQ) imagery for other areas.

GeoEye IKONOS 1-meter resolution imagery is included for China, the Middle East, Afghanistan, parts of Africa, parts of Europe, Canada, Mexico, Central America, Brazil, parts of South America, Australia, New Zealand, and several hundred metropolitan areas around the world.

Coverage for Europe, in addition to IKONOS imagery, includes Getmapping 1-meter resolution imagery for Great Britain, AeroGRID 1-meter resolution imagery for Belgium, France (Region Nord-Pas-de-Calais only), Germany, Luxembourg, and The Netherlands, and 2-meter resolution imagery for the Czech Republic, plus 1-meter resolution imagery for Portugal from the Instituto Geográfico Português.

Additionally, the GIS User Community contributed imagery for Alaska, New York, Virginia, and several communities in Canada.

As illustrated in the coverage map below, worldwide coverage is provided in the World Premier (down to ~1:1k) and World Small-Scale (down to ~1:72k) Collections; regional coverage is provided in the North America Collection (down to ~1:1k).
