Troubleshooting

The following troubleshooting tips can help resolve some common Business Analyst Server issues. If you don't find the answers you are looking for, you can also search the Business Analyst Server Resource Center.

While executing long GET requests with Business Analyst Server on Windows Server 2008 and Windows 2008 R2, an error message appears.

While trying to connect to a Business Analyst Server map service using the upload or download utility in Business Analyst Desktop, an error message appears saying "Unable to determine version".

After changing the location of the Business Analyst Server Repository or the Business Analyst Server Logging folder in ArcGIS Manager, the map service fails to start.

While executing long GET requests with Business Analyst Server on Windows Server 2008 and Windows 2008 R2, an error message appears.

While trying to connect to a Business Analyst Server map service using the upload or download utility in Business Analyst Desktop, an error message appears saying "Unable to determine version".

This error is caused by an invalid URL. Due to a limit in the Tomcat web server used by ArcGIS 10.1, the URLs are also case sensitive. Check your URL for validity and case.

Another error that may appear when trying to connect to a Business Analyst Server Map Service is "Cannot read the list of workspaces from the Current Web Service." This error is caused by the Business Analyst Map service using the No Repository option. There is no place to upload or download data.

After changing the location of the Business Analyst Server Repository or the Business Analyst Server logging folder in ArcGIS Server Manager, the map service fails to start. This happens because the path to your folder doesn't exist. With the Business Analyst Server Post Install, you are prompted to create a folder for the Business Analyst Server Repository which resolves this issue.

ArcGIS Server Manager doesn't have the capability to create a folder. In order to use a folder as a Business Analyst Server Repository using ArcGIS Server Manager, the folder must already exist.
