Extended Error Information

Use the ISupportErrorInfo method InterfaceSupportsErrorInfo to determine if the object supports extended error information. If the object supports extended error info, VC++ developers should use the OLE/COM IErrorInfo interface to access the ErrorInfo object. Visual Basic developers should use the global error object Err to retrieve this extended error information.

Remarks

Use the ExportBMP CoClass to export your map to BMP (Windows Bitmap) format.  BMP files are simple, native Windows raster images. BMPs can store pixel data at several bit depths and can be compressed. They do not scale as well as vector files, and may appear blocky or jagged when increased in size.  The BMP format is also referred to as DIB (Device Independent Bitmap) format.

The internal data structure of BMP files is shared with Windows bitmap memory images, an in-memory raster used in Windows GDI.  Because of this tight integration with Windows GDI, BMP files generated by the ExportBMP CoClass provide an ideal starting point for implementing a custom image format exporter.
