Esri Maps for SharePoint enables you to access your data and ArcGIS maps and tools in the Microsoft SharePoint environment.
The release of Esri Maps for SharePoint 3.0 brings new capabilities including a brand-new JavaScript-based Map Web Part, support for connections to external content using SharePoint Business Connectivity Services (BCS), support for web part communication, and much more! Here are a few of the new features and functionality:
- New product name-Esri Maps for SharePoint
- Support for SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint 2013 (on-premises)
- Initial release of a brand new JavaScript-based Map Web Part
- Updated to support the ArcGIS for Silverlight v3.1 and ArcGIS Extensibility v3.1 SDKs (Silverlight-based map web part only)
- Tighter integration with ArcGIS Online and Portal for ArcGIS 10.2.
- Bidirectional external data connectivity via SharePoint Business Connectivity Services (BCS) External Lists
- Web Part-to-Web Part connections (e.g. Map Web Part to a List Web Part)
- (Coming soon) Localization support for nine languages: Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazilian), Russian, and Spanish.
