System Requirements

Esri Nautical Solution system requirements are consistent with ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Server system requirements. However, for best performance, the following is recommended. 

  • Memory / RAM of 4 GB or higher for managing large volumes of data.
  • Disk Space of 3.4 GB or higher.

 

Software Requirements

ArcGIS Desktop and Extensions

  • ArcInfo
  • ArcGIS Data Interoperability for importing and exporting.
  • Spatial Analyst for creating contour/magnetic isolines
  • Maplex for ArcGIS for simplified label placement and deconflicting (comes with ArcInfo).

ArcGIS Server

  • Enterprise SDE Oracle 11g or SQL Server 2008 final SP1 (32 bit) for implementation of the Nautical Information System (NIS).
  • Personal SDE

Database Requirements

  • SQL Express 2008 for managing all nautical product databases (except DNC).
