ArcGIS Explorer Desktop (build 1750) can be installed along with other supported ArcGIS product versions: ArcGIS 9.3, ArcGIS 9.3.1 and ArcGIS 10. ArcGIS product versions installed on the machine are required to be identical.

Software Requirements
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 or equivalent must be installed prior to installing ArcGIS Explorer Desktop.
Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML) 4.0 Service Pack 2 must be installed prior to installing ArcGIS Explorer Desktop.
Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 7.0 or 8.0 must be installed prior to installing ArcGIS Explorer Desktop.
